My Story

I’m finally following my heart and my passion for coaching and wellbeing. My mission is to use my uplifting coaching style to help others become stronger authentic leaders and more effective decision makers.

My first experience as a coach was in my late teens when I became a tennis coach. I loved all things sport and got a real buzz from helping others to improve whilst also having fun and being active.

Fast forward ten years I found myself in a middle management position with a large, dispersed team. I was certainly ready for the challenge ahead but on reflection not fully prepared.

Having competed and worked in sport, I know first hand the real difference coaches make to building successful teams and improving performance. Looking back, what made the real difference to me was my great coaches and mentors who invested in me, guided, supported and challenged me. Most importantly they reminded me that good leadership was not about having all the answers at my disposal.

The most rewarding part of my career spanning almost 30 years has been seeing individuals and teams I’ve supported develop and grow. This has been in many guises from sports coaching, to tutoring, managing large networks of volunteers, coaching and mentoring staff at various levels and most recently in my role as a senior leader of a leisure and culture charity.

I see the potential in people and organisations. I’ve held several leadership roles over the last 20 years in the public and charity sector and managed large, diverse and dispersed teams of staff and volunteers. I pride myself as being highly committed and loyal. By providing a safe and reflective space, I believe this has helped build trust and develop strong relationships with colleagues and clients alike.

I recently took a short career break to support my family and be more present. I’m grateful I had the time to reflect on what matters the most and where I could make the greatest difference whilst maintaining a balanced lifestyle. So, I undertook further study in leadership and stress management coaching then set up my coaching and mentoring business in 2024.

Away from work I love our family campervan adventures with our two dogs, running and outdoor sports. I like to give something back into our community, so I also volunteer as an MCR Pathways mentor, supporting care experienced young people and I’m a Board Member of the Argyll and Bute Third Sector Interface.
